💷 The Bank of England Reduces Interest Rates — Alan’s Thoughts?

On May 8, 2025, the Bank of England reduced its base interest rate by 0.25 percentage points, bringing it down to 4.25%. This marks the fourth consecutive quarter-point cut since August 2024, when rates peaked at 5.25%

The cutting of interest rates will reduce the rate of interest on your savings. But if you are subscribed to this newsletter, then why the fuck are you saving money? The only way to make your first million is to invest!

Let me give you an example:

If you invest £200 per month, here's how long it could take based on your strategy:

• Annual Return: 4% (e.g. high-interest savings)

Selling Digital Products on Etsy (My Step by Step Guide)

✅ Step 1: Pick a Niche

Choose a problem you can solve with a simple digital file.

Great ideas:

• Budget planners 💸

• Fitness trackers 🏋️

• Wedding checklists 💍

• Social media templates 📱

🎯 Tip: Pick a niche you understand or are passionate about.

✅ Step 2: Create Your Product

Use Canva to design your digital file. No design skills? No problem — start with a free template and customise it.

💡 Aim for simplicity. A good digital product solves a small, specific problem.

✅ Step 3: Set Up Your Etsy Shop

Go to Etsy.com and create a seller account. Follow the prompts to name your shop, add branding, and upload your first listing.

🧾 Make sure to select “Digital product” when uploading your file.

✅ Step 4: Optimise for Search

Use tools like eRank or Marmalead to find high-traffic keywords.
Add those keywords to:

• Your product title

• Description

• Tags

🔍 Think like a customer: What would you search for to find your product?

✅ Step 5: Promote & Automate

Share your product on social media (TikTok, Pinterest, or IG Reels work great).
Set up automatic file delivery through Etsy so every sale is hands-free.

📦 No shipping, no inventory, no overhead.

🚀 Bonus Tip: Keep Testing

Your first product might not blow up — that’s okay. Keep iterating based on what people search for and buy.
